About Us

We are the first and only school to teach The Language of Cooking™ without recipes. In addition we specialize in the art of preparing original food: grains, beans, and vegetables. Our programs for the aspiring professional are designed to create confidence and independence. Our program includes training for all dietary situations.

Philosophy

Cooking is an intuitive art where 'process' teaches us who we are with food. A solid understanding of the theories and techniques of cooking creates an essential structure for culinary exploration where no recipes are followed and all diets and cuisines are embraced.

No Recipes

The Language of Cooking™ unique to SNC explains cooking without measuring or using recipes and provides structure for creativity in all cuisines.

Holistic Training

SNC is an unconventional school located in Boulder, Colorado. A powerful curriculum reaches the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual part of each student.

History

SNC opened the Main Course for home cooks in 1983 and professional curriculum in 1991. In 2005 the curriculum expanded offering energetic nutrition, wine paring, and a protein focus course. Our teachers have utilized the language of cooking in their culinary professions.
